Bartram’s Mile is a one mile stretch of new urban trail to be built along the western banks of the Schuylkill between Grays Ferry Avenue and 58th Street, which includes the National Historic Landmark Bartram’s Garden site. The new trail is part of a greater trail network planned to connect the city and the surrounding communities. Andropogon Associates is designing the new trail to reconnect people to the outdoors and to celebrate the history and horticulture of Bartram’s Garden. Lori is assisting Andropogon with the required historic documentation and reviews, including a summary of the development of the area and an assessment of the new trail’s impact on existing cultural resources.
